Anjengo Church News....

The ‘chance discovery' of one ivory figurines of Virgin Mary (the antique value of which is yet to be ascertained) from Anchuthengu St. Peters Church.

St. Peter Ferona Church, built by the colonialists, has old records of historical importance, including the names of various vicars who served the parish, from 1788 onwards.

The church officials stumbled upon them when they opened the vaults beneath the altar as part of the ongoing restoration work at the place of worship.

An inconspicuous door near the altar led to the vaults. The narrow stairway could be accessed only by one person at a time. The door leading to the crypts, four in all, was much ignored and had not been opened for long.
